24 Mantra Organic and their Coated Masala Peanuts are not something I ever expected to be writing about, but here we are.

A new Indian grocery opened up near me and of course I had to check it out. I’m always curious about new stores, love to support local businesses, and they usually have fun new foods to try. I wasn’t disappointed.

On the way to the checkout with my papads, I spotted some bags of snacks, one was a bag of masala coated peanuts. I like peanuts and it was only $3.00 so I said what the hell…

What isn’t to love? The package claims that they are organic, use cold-pressed oil, are hand made, and all sorts of other good stuff.

As for the taste test… They are interesting. Allyson wasn’t a fan, but I liked them in an odd sort of way. Think not-sweet beer nut. Not a lot of peanut flavor comes through, but there is a nice back of the tongue heat that shows up. Definitely not as spicy as most Indian food.

Would I buy these for an every day snack, probably not. They aren’t bad though, and if you are in a store and see some, I suggest you give them a try!
